No idea how i missed this earlier...still..better late than never!..Was telling about the wake up incident to mom, her reply made me think of this particular incident!
It was the eve of my science boards in 10th that is...always dread the last exam,this being science i had to retain the intensity! But, i had been wanting to watch lord of the rings for a long time...nocturnal even then,i started watching oblivious to the fact that there was an exam the next day! i slept by 230! heavens only know why i saw or why my parents still let that happen!
Either way that did and i was supposed to at my school bt around 930, for which i had to start by around 9.It was 8 and i was sleeping, our school begins by 815, so the house was empty, i woke up by 4 to study, ended up sleeping again when mom left to school, the book open at in the middle of a chemistry chapter :)
Now,you know how serious one has to be during boards...once again the phone ringing again and again somehow got better of my drowsiness and brought me to this world!
Never have i been more thankful to Grahambell [:d],guess we're even now after today morning [:P]

The wake up call!
This is something i wouldn't want even my worst enemy to experience!
it was something like 8 in the morning, prefer to call it the early hours of morning[:P]...i had a phone call,jus woke up to attend it, in a groggy voice,even my sleepy head could register a woman shouting in my ear! man! when i say loud it really was! Not the perfect way to begin my day! or rather the intrusion into my sleep was not really welcome!!
When i distastefully realised all this,it was a bit late...the woman started shouting hysterically asking me who i was,i as...........whatever replied,you called...so,tell me who you want to speak to!She replied,this is my daughter's number
! what have you done to her?
Damn! i certainly didn't wanna begin my day thus,and the idea of me harming anyone...induces nothing nut laughter...now that is,but,back then,my sleep having been interrupted of course irked me badly!
This,when shared with my friends gave them stomach ache especially the part where the woman accuses me of doing something to her daughter![:)] Phew! but except for the start the day went on pretty well[:P]

Take time off to think!
Recently watched a movie called ‘A requiem for a Dream’ and broke down,was disturbed for around 2 days until from somewhere I realized that it was only a movie…so what I want you to infer is..it was so real!!!!!
Lets go into a bit of my history. Now you are looking at a 12 year old boy,aspiring surgeon! All he does is in all his enthusiasm, watches a program on discovery channel which showed how an operation is done! He ended up vomiting, his aspirations till then going down the drain along with the vomit [:p] .Not that I regret it much seeing the amount of work my medical friends do!,of course even my engineering friends do a lot more than me…all that is a different story[:P]
So,a tender,soft..thats what I call myself…….weak,kid is what my friends call me,anyways whatever be it,I don’t care..on watching the movie,I was just shocked at the way drug addiction can drive you crazy to do whatever ppl do! The worst was a lonely mom taking some piolls thinking that they were some weight reduction pills and ending up hallucinating! You couldn’t but shudder,be absolutely shell-shocked!, shed a few tears, have a few or more visions of it and finally write something like this[:d] of course this was also the topic of many of my conversations recently!
Also,one more so disturbing movie was Taare Zameen Par,I don’t remember shedding tears for any other movie and being moved as much I did for that! The social problems children like Ishant(so he was called in that movie) face is usually astonishingly high.The movie just portrayed it so well! The panache with which it has been shown just makes it unforgettable,a must watch. Is surely was the most ideal start you can get for a directorial venture! The beneficiary being Aamir Khan!
My advice to the people who read this is,you’ve taken enough time off to read this,just take a little more off to take in what these movies say! Of course we don’t have so many junkies or dyslexic people,but we have to face that the people who are so are very unlucky,by choice for some,but nature’s wrath for some,still its just us who have to help them get rid of all their problems.After all everyone contributes to this world we live in! why not try make it a better place!

'The' Match
The match is over,as the media has hyped…in a way it can be of some consolation when compared to a loss,which seemed impending after the English side had most of the reasons to smile after three days of the match! Of course,what happened after that is most important,and which matters..First of all, salute to the master on guiding India to the biggest ever run chase in the sub-continent!
This match had the previlage of yours truly watching it[:P] ,my first time….to describe….i was a bit let down due to a few reasons,I’d imagined a much bigger playing area..or so the satellite images appear to be! Dravid not scoring was one more let down…him being the victim of a bad decision was even worse[:-/]
The brighter side was the batting of Sachin tendulkar,worshipped across the globe as the god of cricket,held in high esteem by every other great the game has seen,Lara,And The Don himself,to mention a few!..every bowler’s nightmare!
Self confessed by Shane warne as: I had visions of Sachin walking down the track,Smashing me overhead for a six!
Getting back to my topic,It was awesome to watch him play,though he scored only a 37,It was simply amazing to watch! Especially the square cut! Laxman showed us why he is one among the Fab four, for a short while though.Harbhajan set off some fireworks towards the day’s close and that was it..the rest was followed on the tv!
The most stunning thing to me was how the crowd gets behind the players[J] it was so different and more enjoyable maybe watching it there.The way Dravid defended one of Flintoff’s deliveries,the ball traveling over 140kph, just dropped dead!That was awesome!
The phase which swung the match in our favour was Sehwag’s blistering 83! I missed it when it was being played as I’d gone out,but of course nothing much was missed I guess, as I caught up with the boundaries later on…and most of the runs were scored in boundaries[:P] Mention here has to be made about Strauss’ resolute innings..he scored centuries in both the innings,something that not everyone can do and only the fifth to do so against India speaks volumes about the task!
Coming to the part which was crucial,The stand between Sachin and Yuvi..Not much of a Yuvi fan,But couldn’t help but admiring his play and the way he grew taking confidence from the master of course!
Post match,the speech by Sachin,as he said this century or this victory isn’t going to make any change to the grief of the people struck by terror in Mumbai,not to play it down,he did what he was best at properly
All said, let me come to this point…the rubbish about taking Dravid out of the team!How much more does he have to prove himself?A man who has scored enough to get him sixth on the highest scorers 3 whom ahead of him don’t wield the willow anymore,the man who did lots to the team when it needed,the man widely regarded as ‘The Wall’..Fondly referred to as ‘The fortress’ by warnie,now is just going through a bad patch…now its our turn to get behind him and relieve him off the stress he’s going through.Let’s be clear in that and just be sensible enough to understand that he’s got cricket inside him left and the greatest of hearts,grit the extent of which can be compared to ten Everests.

A good day for the atheists
We sit on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the first very huge rift in mumbai(bombay then)..i mean the december 6th 1992 incident.The previous incidents of terror began from the assasination of Mahatma Gandhi.A person no one in the world would've wanted to kill,and still we want to celebrate him and stuff, that at least was known that it was done by gotse, then, Indira and Rajiv gandhi were assasinated.Till now we have been assasinating people who have done some good to us,the political scene,though jammed with some eminent leaders was beginning to show its true colours. Then, we unnecessarily smash down that masjid just because we feel its next to a Ram temple! why all of a sudden? its been there for years! Did they notice only then?( i seriously wanna swear here)
This blast echoed in bombay!I, kid by then,didn't know what happened but, mom has some vivid memeories!Then,life returned to normal generally,except for tension on the one single day.A movie was taken on that,and we, as susal,went,watched,cheered,finally gave some work to our tear glands,still went around filling the cine crew's stomachs!
Now,once again a tragedy has happened! the whole world is mourning.Counter measures are being discussed, or so i suppose,but ,the richest organisation in india, the bcci wants the cricket match to go on! very necessary! that money, when brought into the economy can do wonders for the country.You may argue that cricket is entertainment,But,who are you going to entertain? a country,which is just recovering form one of the most terrifying incidents? a home which has lost its son? a home which has lost its father?
Why didn't any of the politicians get hurt in this blast?Doesn't it seem to be a too far fetched coincidence? If we see,terrorists are people who are just created by the governments.Its the lack of moral values and ethics in our political scene which leads to all this ......................whatever...
Why dont we create a change?Rather than look for one to happen?I just realised every vote including mine will matter, when we vote the next time,why don't we go for something more than a tv,a kilo of rice and a piece of land,but,for a better place to live in.Its our world..its for everyone,not just for a few!
As for the connection of this post with the title,one my friends,an atheist,was asking me where was god when all this was happening?'certainly if the stories about your gods are true,the politicians should be punished,and i dno,t think getting richer is any sort of punishment' I can't much but to pray for a better place to live in!and i hear voices joining me in prayer!

Awake finally?
This is the reaction of the people towadrs the response of the government to the mumbai terror attack wihch just took place over a week ago.The world mourns,most of us struck woth agony and terror,while its hell broken loose into the lives of the Mumbai people who were having a fast but, peaceful life for quite sometime!.Now,the people of Mumbai,finally awake,hold a rally till the gateway of india to condemn the government and its resopnse...some photos of that.Of course the best one is the first one i guess!

The third flies P(f)ast
After being dormant for the past one semester, now I’m back, or so to say..Its only fitting that I first begin with what has happened this semester [:)]
Life: This came first as I learnt…many things I can tell and some I can’t publicly[:)]….anyways…I learnt a lot in life than in engineering I guess.I entered the third semester seeking redemption from the horrors of the past two where I had done nothing useful and my gpa of course is a reflection of this, that was needless to say I guess…chuck this, I’ve leant how much they matter.
Getting back to my original topic, seeking redemption, I guess I’ve done some justice this semester..right from the effort to the composure in exams! But of course, on the attendance front I have nothing much to say! [;)],of course, I take this opportunity to thank Anurag, Vigna,Vikas without who’s services I couldn’t have sat for my semester exams!And Anish too, without whom i wouldn't have realised the extent of my memory
Fun: Lots to say..Let me begin with mr.Vikas who has to be mentioned here..his stand up comedies are definitely stuff fit for a legend( mind you, no one is spared!), with his special affinity towards shreyas and of course you-know-who is also on the list next[;)] without me mentioning [:)].His wit filled letters(ask the mech gang what they are),Pranks(ask anyone!) from other mobiles( I definitely was his worst victim!) I mean bring a definite cheerfulness in classes where even the most sincere sleep!
Then,The mech gang, Cows and bulls, proxies, room number 46, Captain!..Lots..its just lovely!
The most important: Mafia! An amazing game,where emotionsreactions,gut felings,matter the most,where you can find a total link with reality…er…my exploits in the game certainly are potential laughter challenge winning material!..
Playing fifa in 58,The champions league matches,The epl matches,nfc manager,nite outs at octa ,watching movies during power cuts….i just come to think of the time I did waste!..and get reminded of 18 years in my life…of course..that’s a different story..
Exams: This time around, my determination did work something good…I could stay up fresh with just an hours’ sleep on an exam day and still manage to think straight during the exam!
Now we come to the usual part..this has been the third time in my college life where I’ve vowed to be sincere, in the next semester, have more than 75% attendance in everything…
Then, the economic recession evoking a good interest in me to learn whats happening around me,the nuclear deal…this semester has been educative after all!
Horizons: This is the part when we did some work! Everyone coming up with some suggestion or the other, somehow wanting to better mech’s record of performing poorly in such events.
Guys coming up enthusiastically to dance, and the spoof was the most enjoyable part I guess [:)] of course, we were edged in dance by an awesome civil in eastern and adorable comp.sci in western!
I learnt that humility isn’t one of my strengths, so, why hide my victory in dumb c[J]..the most convincing victory being the victory in the scrap music competition..of course everone has a few regrets and we have some towards the judging…
Events:The tussle with deivalakshmi in lab towards the end of the semester,the som lab viva..all make a lovely semester which just …………………………………………….flew away…its like I just entered my counciling hall…now I’m 3/8 of an engineer I suppose!
Home:At home, its been a nice semester, with me changing to who I was earlier, and my sister growing up really fast and taunting whatever I do…its been a lovely, fast, and of course fun filled semester…now…waiting for the product of this semester’s hard work( you know I’m joking)
Now, really speaking, just lazing around,me too marooned by the rain,irrtated at the terrorism, watching movies, late night games( I mean the telecast time!),finally full of energy!( ask mom, I cooked today) and just msgin!
Look forward to some proper blogging this semester hols too!

Fans of farce?
A few things I observed about Indian movies:
- The hero can have many hands when it comes to a fight
- The heroine is always rich and falls in love with a mechanic or rouge
- No villain is good enough to land a blow on the hero
- If only our heroes were any where nearer to reality than what they really are we wouldn’t be celebrating just one gold medal (with special reference to an atrocious long jump!)
- The heroine is either dumb or is too lazy to wear a dress
We are supposedly the world’s second fastest growing nation,(in terms of population too),But look at what we let to entertain us, it’s a farce !
Just consider the number of movies released each year and the number of movies which can actually even be called worth of watching. In the past years how many Oscars have we won? How many movies are even worth of an Oscar nomination? Its fine to have something unreal to entertain us but is it so to let only that to entertain us? And any movie based on reality is a damp squib here..the reason: the audience don’t welcome it! Does that mean we are really nuts just waiting for the hero to hug the heroine? Let’s think again and just discourage these stupid stuff hereafter at least
P.S:this of course resulted after watching a movie :)
The 61st year of independance and now what?
We are celebrating our 61st year of independence, lets take ourselves back to august 15th 1947 and bring us back bit by bit from that instant we started calling ourselves independent.
1950: The constitution framed, metric system introduced, India becomes a republic! And in the meanwhile one person picks up hate from somewhere people are yet from to find where to kill the most influential man in the 20th century…Gandiji!
Lets do a fast forward here, go to 1983,India won its only major piece of silverware..in the meanwhile Nehru dies, India signs two more treaties with Pakistan and even wages a war! In the future a madness called cricket is to rule the entire nation and reduce the so called-national-sport: hockey to nothing, the bad pool of players, bad performances lead to the erasing of hockey from people’s memories
Now to the present, in the 62nd year of independence, we recall our achievements….very few to count Vishwanathan Anand ruling chess, a Sachin tendulkar ruling the world of cricket, Two miss worlds and a miss universe, 3 indians on the Forbes multi-millionaires top 10 and on the flip side India going high on the list of most corrupt countries, Inflation rising to a 12 percent, The politics being very dirty did everything to ensure that this situation was to stay and India started to lose her respect world-wide!
The main reason for all this is just said to be the ignorance of the people …we with all this education, technology, brains, being oblivious to our own downfall? Does that make any sort of sense? Many institutes with world wide reputation, an entrance exam which is claimed to be the toughest of its sort, Only Indians clearing it, supposedly very brilliant people oblivious to all this?
If Gandiji were to live today what would be his reaction ? did he liberate us just to go from bad to worse? Isn’t it up to us to think of some other thing, unite and come up with something better and get us outta this mess? Lets not hesitate from this date onwards, to unite and lets bring our hands together to form what would be a much better India to live in
If we were to look into our neighbour we would just see unity, co-operation, discipline ,just marvelous is the way China is conducting the Olympics…lets just take the cue be better for once !

Isn’t it up to us to think of some other thing, unite and come up with something better and get us outta this mess? Lets not hesitate from this date onwards, to unite and lets bring our hands together to form what would be a much better India to live in
If we were to look into our neighbour we would just see unity, co-operation, discipline ,just marvelous is the way China is conducting the Olympics…lets just take the cue be better for once !

Kuselan-Movie review!
Forget the movie! lets first go frame by frame of what was not the best evening!
We began by around 730 to the theater around 10 miles away...24 of us waiting to see if kollywood really has a smashing hit in kuselan that evening! The theaters in trichy isn't really what we would like to boast about ...still for pride's sake........... it was good! Our stomachs full with a dinner, which would certainly qualify as a banquet,our hearts equally full of expectation,we entered the thater havin taken the precaution of booking our tickets early as it was a weekend and this was no ordinary movie for which you walk in as THE SUPERSTAR acts in it!
The first thing we noticed was that we got 24 tickets easily and the theater certainly had a lot of vacant seats ...faint smells of a rat!
The curtains went up and the cheer from the audience ensured that the opening lines were missed ....only that it wasn't goin to matter anyways :-/
We watched to utter perplexity as The supposed comedian and Nayantara...sorta side-kick had more screen time than the hero and the super star!
Around 20 hours had passed when i write this from when i watched the movie!Still i dont see any story line!
An item number which was unnecessary , a stupid comedy track,no story at all sums up kuselan for u!
Oh! i just forgot the music...it almost slipped outta my mind! does that express enough?
On the whole just a publicity stunt tried for the superstar...but ended up as negative campaigning
A movie for exclusive Rajni fans and movie buffs and useless people!

Now! Just don’t judge that im a rude person…just that I get pissed off! I had been to a function recently and fortunately or unfortunately all my realtives were there…I dunno why but I don’t like people asking me boring questions! I seriously felt like blasting and givin a piece of my mind! A few of the questions and the intended replies were:
1.Wow! how much you have grown( not referring my height of course!)
A: What! do you expect me to be a toddler even after 18 years
2.You look exactly like your dad! Don’t you?
A: What was that statement for if you weren’t sure? And im only happy not to look like you!
3.How are your marks?
A: Why don’t you ask them?
4. Why have you lost weight? Not eating properly?
A: Most people don’t have anything to eat when you do!
5. Do you always look that grim?
A: No! only when nuisances are around
6. Do you ever keep that mobile down?
A: No! does that make you jealous?
7. I heard that you speak back a lot nowadays..why?
A; I just got to know the difference between nonsense and sense
8. I have a problem
A: I thought it was the other way around
9. Are you irritated?
A: No! enjoying the company of people triple my age!
10. People like you today are really irresponsible
A: God! i know old wine gets better but this old quip seems an exception!
11. Look at the music you people hear , the food you eat...everything is so bad about them!
A: Just because your ears deaf and you have all sorts of health troubles does not mean that they are bad!
Well! I just know everyone would have felt the same in such situations! All the same…we get reprimanded by our parents for being rude but I tell you they would’ve been no beter at this age too

Dasa-Movie review
Well! dasa as we all know has been the most awaited movie for a long time now...the fact that Kamal donning 10 roles itself being a reason to watch the movie..The mere fact that Kamal dared to act in 10 different roles and delivering in his usual style casts a spell on the audience!
Though all the 10 roles did not get equal attention it was kamal all the way :) and the genius has shown us why his name rings a bell in every far corner in the world!
The police man Balram naidu with his butler english and rib tickling humor fills the void of a comedian and some witty dialogues also provide the same effect :) Asin..! (a sigh) she is simply girlish ...an exact portrayal of how a small town girl is ! Love you!
The music was not all that great i guess wil be outlived by the fame of the movie in our memories
Kaal's acting was simply superb and the stunt master a treat to watch :) Jackie would be really pleased to take a leaf outta the stunt master's book :)
The villiain looks like one just out from a robert ludlum novel,..intelligent...vicious..and not a person who buckles down to the heroics of our hero....:)
I really envied the 7 foot tall charecter...obvoiusly !
Mallika's prescense on the screen just blows the ac's cooling effect to smithereens ...damn!
Then that social activist...those muslims had very small roles to play...you cant exactly give screen time to ten people let alone the others :)

My pulse did 72 a second!!
It was one among the most eagerly awaited matches of the season…a monumental occasion …the final of the European championship in club football! And on this occasion it was between Manchester united and Chelsea..for the readers who are new to club football…Manchester united (manu) and Chelsea are the football powerhouses in England.Earlier this season when they faced off in the championship within England Chelsea got the better winning Manu 2 to 1..But Manu had the final laugh winning the championship in England too..The contest went to the wire with Manu finally getting the better of the blues with a lead of two points!
As far as the European championships are concerned both played great football to make the final bid on the coveted trophy..The day 21st may unfurled many thrills for the fans all around the world..it was a red letter day in the books of Chelsea and Manu..it was the final of the European Championships. Now,people glued to their sets..waiting for the kick-off which finally came at around mid-night in the Indian time..after some good football…we saw Cristiano Ronaldo head one ball into the net…nothing except god himself could have stopped that from going inside! The red-devils surged ahead!!!!
The world’s best player had proved his worth yet again..
Hang on! After a couple of close chances for the reds..at the fag end of the first half Frank lampard brought the blues in the game again with a goal which can only be described as a comedy of errors and some cool football by the blues also!
After a first half which belonged to the reds except for the last minute…the blues charged up by their goal in the last minute came back strongly and full points to them on that. Then with the players even with more chances could not get past either goalies..had to go into the extra time searching for any changes..the tension mounting and the piece of silver in display on both the podium and their minds did nothing to ease the already monumental tension on them.
With the second period of extra time seeing the send off for the blues striker Didier Drogba on slapping Tevez..the climax was approaching…with the dead-lock failing to be broken the final had to go into the penalty shoot outs..
The gravity of the occasion and the expectation of the millions of fans across the globe were weighing heavily on the minds of the players..the first penalty was taken by the reds …and..IN!!! The blues too put one past Van der sar..then came the second…Cristiano Roanldo…a goalies nightmare…the fans were very assured but! Darn it! It wasn’t to be so!!..it was one of the days where his deception took an off day..Petr Cech saved what was the most toughest penalty in terms of the tension and the skill of the person shooting it..Phew! the the reds put all the remaining 3 in and the blues had not faltered till the fifth..now…Manu on 4 penalties on 5…chelsea with four on four John Terry the captain taking it..he was taking it with all the prayers of his team and fans… along with the expectations and hopes of his manager,team and fans!..He slots it,and Chelsea go through as champions of Europe..avenging their loss to manu earlier at the English Championship…Now was the moment…But we saw a repeat of the Euro 2004 Beckham miss in the quarter finals against Portugal…JOHN TERRY SHOT WIDE!!!!
Then it was like in the same chance if one team shoots and the other team misses the shooter is the victor! Ryan Giggs slotted one past Petr Cech when Nicolas Anelka did not manage the same against Van der sar..Manchester united were crowned the champions of Europe in a colourful and fitting ceremony to the champions and also not to be too harsh on the blues they played some great football too!
It was eventually football and the ones with nerves of steel who won…the match will be remembered for the high quality football it produced and of course the pulse raising it caused across the world for over two hours !!!..Phew…I had never before experienced such a nerve racking…I cant imagine how it would have been for the players..
Now that they have won the technical acumen of Sir Alex Ferguson never comes under the scanner as his do-gooders romp home with 2 of the 4 championships..Lets see what the future has to bring!!! :)

Crazy-game for the crazy people eh?
The story of an IPL team:
A captain who is famously called ‘unfit’ for the shortest form of the madness called cricket in spite of having over 10000 runs against his name in both the other established forms of the game and standing 5th on the list of the players with maximum runs in test cricket..only true thing is that the gods have given him lesser luck as he has enough talent and agreed that he does not score boundaries like the other ‘poster boys’..but, when he hits the ball on the off side it goes to the off side not to the leg side boundary like many others’ shots do..
A bowling attack without any teeth to sting though it comprises the world’s second best fast bowler and the second highest wicket taker of the tourney…and of course mention has to be made of the Indian leg spinner who is next on the charts after a Shane Warne!...true that they did not sting very hard in the past
But, on a day when they were on the mat at 40 off 10 overs for the loss of some 4 wickets …a below par score in the newest form of slam-bang cricket…thanks to some lethal bowling from the opposition bowlers and of course illogical batting from the team in consideration also…they came back to stun the opposition by catching them 14 runs shy of the target!
Considering the events of the match our captain struck a defiant 47 off 39 deliveries which had 6 hits to the fence…all of which were classic examples of how to play those shots…he is unfit oh yeah? Oooh…look at the strike rate... its very low! Yeah he does not put the bat to everything in whichever way ,but he does only in the way it has to be done ..eventually it was the highest score in the match also.This was not the first instance in which he top scored for his side.
Well..the opposition given a paltry 127 to chase in 20 overs on a wicket which was flat a model’s mid-section(no pun intended J)..raced to 85 for one in 12 overs two well set batsman in crease playing shots with consummate ease off the bowlers…the champion comes in picks up two crucial wickets with lethal deliveries and some more good back up from the other bowlers left the side 15 runs shy short of victory.
Moral of the story: It’s a lions heart which wins matches not the brutal force of the hand which dispatches the ball to the boundary to the spectators glee and..of course!.. a steady mind also

The team in discussion was the Banglore Royal challengers who were at the bottom of the table Led by Rahul Dravid and bowled to Victory by Anil Kumble and Dale Steyn..The opposition was the Chennai super kings playing at home…
My request: People,if you still call Dravid a test player and Dhoni better than him please try learning cricket..it was the patient 47 which kept the team in the hunt not a quickfire 15…though being aggressive helps being soft does not hurt at all. When I was watching the home leg of the same match which Chennai won by Dhoni’s pyrotechnics and Dravid’s softness I still wince at the insults people hurled at him..if a player who has won so many matches for the nation is treated like this then the worse players are at a much pitiable state in this Cricket-crazy nation..and please watch cricket and not your favorites cheering your favorites may bring you joy but booing another might hurt many so…please mature!!..I refer the Booing of Sachin when he was Duck out also…Well! What more should he accomplish? And please sport is entertainment and it remains that way till people watching it are really sane and watch the sport also at times!

366 days ago!
One full year has passed and to think of the very date..the 14th may 2007 gives me a feeling I still cannot comprehend as till that disaster happened I as a totally different person..a person who never questioned anything but accepted everything as they came to me…
At the precise time..00:00 my watch beeped and I was sleepless …on my bed in a room cooled by the ac still I was sweating …when the sun’s rays touched me I knew that the result of my 14 years of study would come alive and the route of my future would materialize…yes it was the day when my 12th results were about to be announced
As befitting the occasion I woke up earlier than usual ,even went to the temple and prayed. Everyone were astonished….my family knew me as a care-free guy who has the complete confidence on himself..never cared about a result and stuff..but me goin to a temple was something very new to my people given my laziness!
The government’s awareness about things are not at the best and their idea of punctuality comes under the same category..the results scheduled to be out by 830 was finally out by 12:00 noon…and when I got to see them all that was left for me was the sympathetic glances of my friends,”it’s ok..you prepared for the entrances also “ from relatives and parents and many other not so pleasant compliments…I was left shattered …sorry I forgot to say what happened

I started hearing my people speaking about rates to seats in different colleges…and stuff it left me in a very awkward position…I was very cool about my studies as I was always confident that I would never leave my parents in this situation..but that was not to be true at the most crucial juncture..all my calculations had backfired..all the hours I had spent when my friends had studied …all those hours spent watching Dravid’s centuries again and again tugged at the bottom of my heart .A guilty feeling that I was totally new to… i was in an inconsolable state. I never spoke ,smiled,ate for around 2 days..that was till when my dad spoke to me.
Im really thankful to god now as I tell you without my parents’ support nothing would have happened as it has now..they were the ones who encouraged me to look beyond the state board books into the entrance exams…the ones who gave my otherwise aimless life an direction and yet in a totally non-forceful way.When my dad spoke I felt as if I had aged by 2 years ..nearly turned an atheist as I tell you my scores below par for anyone who is supposed to be good…and I was…
The same encouraging…chill-nothing’s lost-attitude of my dad surprised me…Finally he asked me “are sure you did your exams better than this?” my immediate answer was a yes …the next day my dad was applying for the Xerox copies of my papers when they came and when I went to my teachers to identify any places where I can get marks…I found that I would get a lot more…I never felt the relief that I had done much better than what I thought …but angry at the examiners to have been so careless with the future of a person how many futures were played with? How many Aravinds are going around cursing their luck? In this competitive scenario where one mark can mean more than 1000 ranks is this what we want? Given the authority I would have personally sacked the teacher and sued him…its for his mistake im paying a 1000 rupees per paper…and I do it with anxiety and im not even sure that justice would be done even then..does this scenario augur well?
When and how will this be changed..? these questions sound rhetoric to me..Idiots! is all I can I say for those idiots who value the paper and the ones in power …valuing a student’s future with what has happened in a span of a mere 3 hours…that wont and cant change though..
Eventually due to my parents’ constant persistence I applied for re-eveluation and got a 195 in chemistry and 194 in physics …a whooping difference of 17 marks…though I welcome the marks I still shudder at the thought of what has happened in between the two events …actually now my board marks are nothing more than a mere number..still imagine a person for whom this is the thing which matters…
We live in a sick world where the ones at fault call the shots and don’t give a damn to a student’s future its just a bundle of scrap and a matter of a few bucks for that paper…im not going to commend a teacher who does the evaluation methodically as its just their duty.. its time things changed and lets think of something that at least leaves out this suffering for our juniors!!

Given the authority I would have personally sacked the teacher and sued him…its for his mistake im paying a 1000 rupees per paper…and I do it with anxiety and im not even sure that justice would be done even then..does this scenario augur well?
When and how will this be changed..? these questions sound rhetoric to me..Idiots! is all I can I say for those idiots who value the paper and the ones in power …valuing a student’s future with what has happened in a span of a mere 3 hours…that wont and cant change though..
Eventually due to my parents’ constant persistence I applied for re-eveluation and got a 195 in chemistry and 194 in physics …a whooping difference of 17 marks…though I welcome the marks I still shudder at the thought of what has happened in between the two events …actually now my board marks are nothing more than a mere number..still imagine a person for whom this is the thing which matters…
We live in a sick world where the ones at fault call the shots and don’t give a damn to a student’s future its just a bundle of scrap and a matter of a few bucks for that paper…im not going to commend a teacher who does the evaluation methodically as its just their duty.. its time things changed and lets think of something that at least leaves out this suffering for our juniors!!

'Nite' outs!!
The term nite outs is very common during the preparations for the semester exams in our college..it just means a group of duffers one book or one teacher and the day before an exam and the the same state through the night!!..
The reasons: As i mentioned earlier the nite outs are only for duffers and not the studious lot! as they prepare well in advance and sleep when we toil all night!! :)
Next, it is for the people who are extremely cool and with we-dont-give-a-damn-about-marks attitude! But they just do it to pass off as an arrear may mean many unpleasent things!
Then, the golden rule is never take systematic notes in class..no point in trying to prepare notes from volumes of printed matter 10 hours before an exam..so beg borrow or snatch some good nerd's note!!
The Process:
One good guy who is good enough to teach us 10 hours before the exam,instead of he himself revising for the exam will be found no matter however bad he is manage along!
Or get hold of the notes of any nerd somehow and read it fast and well and teach yourself to your friends..
The session generally begins by 7 in the evening before the exam ...material collection till 10 and studn till 2 or 3 or 4 then sleep depends on the exam for exams like chemistry less sleep ( we slept from 4 to 6) for math and physics a lot more!
On the morning of the exam (exam is usually by 930) full recap of whatever we studied and cram a few more details if possible and leave!
My Experiences: Whenever we study its better to study with someone on the same range as we or a little better as if the person is too good he may demoralise you even before we start studying!
Bearing this principle we the great '32' gang combined to read for the exams..

Dindu(the most important person as he gave us something to eat durin odd hours of the night!),

Anand Srinivas(not exactly full time nite out at 32 ,though many a time helpful in clarifying doubts though..an extremely intelligent and awesome friend!)

Mention has to made of Raj Prabhu one of the inmates of the room 32 but never objected to our stayin and disturbing his study and sleep! and of course HK who taught us many times after he finished studying..
The unity durin this process was amazing...one each studn each topic and teaching each other! well! thats hostel life!!!

Whew! One year over and it seems to me as if this year has not even started…Its been a mixed bag as far as this ‘academic’ year is concerned…I came home today only to find my gran’s eagerly awaiting my arrival [:)] .I went about the usual routines and at one point my gran dad asked me what I had learnt this year..that of course was answered by a polite and rather sheepish smile but internally something else began…finally when my thought process concluded I decided that this was what I had learnt this year..
ACADEMICS:
An absolute zero.Only in the second semester maths was challenging and of course we liked to learn for the exam and eagerly looked forward to have a crack at the challenging paper..but alas! The semester paper being an easy one did no justice and it was a bit of a dampner..
I am really interested in physics but after one year of study in the famous NIT-T I can hardly scent any trace of that intrest in myself..and of course no comments on chemistry.
Previously I never had an exam where I had to learn something on the morning of the exam..never been late to an exam hall but after going to college I have had days where I had to start preparing on the day of the exam..and of course never been to the exam hall before time.. is that good or bad.?
My mediocre gpa does nothing to say in favour of this

LIFE: Being on one’s own can be really nice .Hostel life is solid proof for that..washing your own clothes ,tending your bed,cleaning your room etc..these are small things but when done they give you immense satisfaction after being done by someone else all the previous 17 years
Friends are more important than what Sir Newton’s laws say or volume integerals or carbon’s valency…seriously,then who else would give you assignments or even better do them? J…Apart from that nothing can bring back those magic moments you spend together or those brilliant teasing we undertake!..staying ten in the same room and having fun! (no pun intended!)..whoa! its just awesome
I babble a lot nowadays under the tag of mokkai’s. well… not sure if this is good either
My family has 3 generations of teachers and professors my mom also being one…. imagine how respected teachers should be in my house …time to break the old rules eh?
On the last day of the first year my friend introduced me to a literary group..a group of people who read books other than the novels also…I heard names of books that have changed lives ,that convey the lives ,the achievements of great men whom everyone admires…why didn’t I think of reading them before itself?.....got lots to learn in life
Books are really the best companion a man can get if he is lonely :-p
nothing gives you more satisfaction than an amazing read..then is music…by saying music I mean music where you understand whatever is sung(note the word)..not people using heavy sounds to hide their not-so-good-voice…music is something that clears your head not which brings in a head ache..
OTHERS: I was introduced very recently to a crazy sport called soccer…22 fully grown men slogging it out just to posses a ball few foot in size and trying to put it into a post which again is guarded..and millons across supporting a group of 11 men ..i got a bit tired when the same group was continuing its love affair with winning …of course relationships are meant to be maintained..!!
Late night matches …people grabbing up seats with slogans supporting their teams and stuff and sledging among themselves…..all that is really nice!!
Even when a person loses he is not without support…if you did’nt know im a HARDCORE Dravid fan and Royal Challengers’ supporter..and of course im not single at that!
Build-up is something that can irritate you but at times I wonder how people manage to do the …without even me realizing it I have become the master of build up [:)]
All this apart …I met a senior who was leaving the college…he was very very emotional about his life here ending…I just thought over it now…if something made him feel that much what else could it have been other than his friends? If there is something more I still have’nt seen it and I doubt that I will at the end of 3 more years …
Let me see what happens when I write a post on the same subject next year [:)]
AS for the answer for the question it moves to the right as no door is visible only windows…this was a question asked to the kids in UK. 90% answered it correctly …good minds coming up?

Acids Taste sour.......
All of us would have heard this as a property in or the studious(unlike me) would have read it in books......buthow many actually tasted it? and of course washed hand with it instead of water...
Well! I have ..Anyone who knows me ,will know that i and chemistry have as much in connection as Hitler and Peace did.The roots for that and my many trysts with chemistry have left me very less to remember all of which will be given for reader's pleasure..now! get ready for some rollicking laughter.
My first chemistry class in 6th standard(until then it was science combined!),
Maam: Aravind,What do you know about Water(she asked me as i was playing and not listening)?
Me : I'll drink that whenever i feel thirsty.(Ahem, i was pretty innocent then)
Maam:Anything else?
Me : (Now a grin across my face)Ill ask permission to go out to drink water so that i can cut the period!
Class Laughs Maam made note that this boy was to become the bane of all the teachers later,and so not exactly disliked me but ofcourse did not approve of me very much,and me being upto all mischiefs that even Fred and George would'nt have thought trying, did very less to change that,
One fine evening:I was with Dad,..Met him after a long time as he was posted in Banglore and was living there whereas i was in Chennai."How are your studies going?""Dad,time to change topic"Laughter "Dei,I heard you take from me in chemistry..""Dad, you tell me that you too are bad at it?""After my 12th due to my dad's impertinence i had to do a 3 year course in chemistry, And till now i have'nt cleared my arrears......"I never had seen a more resemblence in me to my dad till now...
Then.....( a Few years later)....:I was sweating Profusely,Not one single question was known..not even one, i ransacked my grey cells for something ,something at all that i had seen in the books or heard my friends speak of,Er..nothing came up..it was my chemistry exam in 8th,in the sense it was the chemistry part..My mom was a teacher in the same school and every time my chemisry sir went upto my mom with me and made me promise that i would open my account in chemistry next time at least! I had managed to pass the previous times just because i wrote the physics and boi portions well..one more time...it wasnt that which bothered..it was the thought of the computer my mom promised to buy me if i did well in chemistry.I relied on my freind but he totally betrayed me my hiding his answer sheet..moron i havent forgiven him till nowFinally i managed a 3 on 25 on that paper in chemistry..my life long tiff with chemistry had very well begun...huh
10th standard Board exams,Science:"A boy by the name Aravind is writing the exams ......see to that he dosen't copy.....if he gets caught the school will lose it's pride." These were the words of my principal to the examiner who came to invigilate..Earlier, My Sis said:"Dei,All the best,I know you'll do very well..but if at all you want to copy do it very cleverly..pls for heavens sake you are my bro!!These words left me flustered,Should i copy in chemistry?........finally i got a 98 on 100 in that paper losing both marks in chemistry..
November 11th 2005,Around 3 in the evening,Vanavani .mat.hr.sec.school,Chemistry lab: It was pouring outside,pretty torrential,and someone was inside undergoing a thousand somersaults a minute inside his stomach..none other than yours truly..I was sweating even though it was cold outside..and of course inside also..i was shivering no,not the cold it was my titration (date verified from my diary)..we had to pippete sodium hydroxide and pour Hydrochloric acid in the burette..i did exactly the opposite in my fear and while pippeting drank the hydrochoric acid..save for the diluteness of the acid, i really thought i was going to lose my throat ,my lovely voice(lols!!),.........and the thought train was interruped by the coarse voice of my lab attendant asking me to relax..i thought whatever happens your voice can't get worse than that Well ,I thought acids do taste sour,That night in my apartment me and my friends had a very good laugh speakin about all this..
May 14th,2007:My Board results were announced i got a 195 in chemistry ...my personal highest..How ironical can life get? and will murphy's law ever be proved wrong?Once again the thought process interrupted my mom,i thought it was a dream for day-dreams were nothing new to me,the heat and the tension could have done something...but it was true as true as Gandhi supported non-violence!!
April 1st 2008:Now,in NIT-Trichy,one semester had passed,without any further incident ,of course,me messing up titrations is nothing new..Well, Getting back to present,Waiting for the teacher to call my name and hand out my answer sheet..I got a 13 on 20...my first double digit score in 4 tests in college..i told my mom she replied all this things will happen only on the fool's day!!
Well,that also happened to be my penultimate chemistry exam in my life.:)
To chemistry, Buddy we never struck chemistry...sorry for that phrase..could'nt resist it,and it seems you will be out of my life in a matter of one more exam,not that ill miss you ,not that ill brood your absence..that sense of thrill you gave me when i wrote the exams,...whoa! unparalleled....Anyways..Goodbye and enlighten other's life at least..The only thing i have felt happy leaving behind....
This relationship has spanned many pages of my diary and well.....breaking up at last!

The boy was sweating,his adrenaline surging as many times before.This was the last ball,six runs to win,world cup final,his idol batting,Bowler running towards the .....suddenly from nowhere he had a hand waking him up.He suddenly ascertained the fact that he had been day-dreaming by looking around him.He was in a familiar place ,totally diffrent from the one he visualised just now...he then resumed day-dreaming...now he was watching a cricket match,his idol scoring a century(some even say that he does that only in day-dreams!)..as a passionate fan he stood up waved and shouted in the middle of his dream utterly unconsious that it was just one.! I get into house later than usual,having spent the evening studying in my friends place,er,thats what i was supposed to have ..nothing to comment upon.Sister giggles when i enter....mom ,stern faced says: "slept off again i heard"
i with my most sincere look and innocent face with a grin replied"what to do? your cooking and the lunch were equally brilliant!!"
Mom starts laughing and sis looks disappointed with mom at not having condemned me.
Whew! That was one hell of an experince,having to pacify mom and of course the usual warnings from sir,and this tine the principal himself.....and for intrest sake i slept off again in the next chemistry period!
That day i recalled was actually a dream day in my life( all pun intended) as i slept continously even after being caught in chemistry period!!
All such experiences happen only in that magic period called school life,a period where colourful people ,friends, memories,crushes,blushes,bits,tutions,other tution girls,and the least....studies!! are experienced, I too as very freaky person have many funny memories to remember,cherish and brood over from school life.One such was the above one ..
